Metro West operates as an emergency veterinary center on nights, weekends, and holidays in the facility which houses the daytime practice of Hulen Hills Animal Hospital.  Accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) for over 20 years, Metro West specializes in trauma medical emergencies and critical care. At Metro West, we know how important it is to have your pet back to normal as soon as possible. That’s why our staff is experienced at managing critical patients after surgery.

Our state-of-the-art facility is equipped with sophisticated diagnostic equipment as well as in-house laboratory and x-ray services. We also offer hydrotherapy in our 20-foot long, heated pool in order to provide your pet with a fast recovery.

Medical Records

Communication with your primary veterinarian is an important part of every pet’s care.  Upon discharge, each client will receive a folder containing two versions of medical records: a “client friendly” version for you and another version to keep your primary veterinarian in the loop.

Client Comforts

At Metro West we desire to make your emergency visit less stressful by catering to your needs as well. We offer gourmet coffee in our waiting area and you can watch TV as we care for your pet. Rest assured, we will keep you continually updated while your pet receives medical attention.

Doctors and Staff

_pq25610Steve Hotchkiss, DVM is the center’s owner and director. Dr. Hotchkiss is a 1992 graduate of the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine and has been in private practice in Fort Worth ever since.  Dr. Hotchkiss served as the 2001 President of the Tarrant County Veterinary Medical Association and served on its Board of Directors for three years. The Metro West staff, led by Dr. Hotchkiss, is composed of highly trained doctors and veterinary nurses.
